Rooted in Faith, Committed to Academic Excellence

Founded in 1947, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence grounded in Catholic values. Our school offers a dynamic and nurturing educational environment that challenges students to grow intellectually, spiritually, and socially. Guided by the curriculum of the Diocese of Raleigh and aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, our academic program fosters both strong foundational knowledge and critical thinking.

Early Childhood Education

Our Pre-Kindergarten programs focus on nurturing creativity and readiness through activities that develop social interaction, fine and gross motor skills, and an early understanding of the Catholic faith.

Lower School

Kindergarten builds upon these early foundations, helping children strengthen their reading and math skills while deepening their appreciation for learning and faith.

Grades 1st–2nd
In first and second grade, students continue to build core skills in reading, mathematics, and religion. Self-contained classrooms with learning centers encourage exploration and independence, while maintaining close student-teacher engagement.

Grades 3rd–5th
The curriculum expands to include religion, math, language arts, science, and social studies. Our approach emphasizes organizational skills, academic growth, and personal responsibility.

Middle School (6th–8th)

Students rotate classes to experience a departmentalized structure that prepares them for high school. The curriculum includes math, language arts, science, social studies, Spanish, and religion. A strong emphasis is placed on independence, critical thinking, and leadership.

Enrichment Opportunities

All students benefit from weekly instruction in art, music, physical education, Spanish, and library. These classes support well-rounded development and encourage creativity and self-expression.

Faith in Action

Catholic and non-Catholic students alike receive instruction in the Catholic faith. Service learning is an integral part of our school culture, with all students participating in outreach projects that support both our parish and the broader community. Through service, students learn compassion, empathy, and how to make meaningful contributions to the world around them.
