Pre-K Curriculum Overview

Four-year-olds…they come to school wide-eyed and with one job on their minds…exploring!

Eager to explore the world, early learners have an insatiable curiosity. So, how do you allow these budding brains the freedom to roam while also teaching the key skills that will prepare them for kindergarten and beyond?

Our Eagle's Nest Pre-K program uses the "Let’s Begin with the Letter People" curriculum to meet the needs of our 4 and 5-year-old students as they learn and grow.

  • Integrated learning across language and literacy, math, science, and social-emotional development
  • Oral language and listening skills
  • Print awareness
  • Phonological and phonemic awareness
  • Alphabet knowledge: letter identification and sound-symbol association
  • Vocabulary development
  • Writing and spelling

Our research-based, developmentally appropriate, comprehensive Pre-K curriculum is kid-friendly and teacher-approved. Helping early learners develop the strong foundation they’ll need for reading and writing success in today’s much more rigorous kindergarten classrooms.

The spiritual growth of our students is developed by our Virtues in Practice religion program, as well as visits by our priests, learning prayers, and attending Mass starting in January. We learn bible stories based on the letter of the week and spend time with our Prayer Partners.

Additionally, students enjoy weekly enrichment classes; Spanish, PE, Art, Music, Technology and Library taught by Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School’s Faculty. Monthly enrichment activities include; Journey with Jesus with IHM Priests, visits from Creature Teacher, soccer and educational field trips. Our students grow academically, emotionally, socially, and physically while learning independence and responsibility in a nurturing environment.
